  3. Hello,
I am the publisher of these works. It should kind of you if you can indicate at least that they were conceived, like all the "graphies" Mirtha Dermisache makes, to be published. Theses "pieces" are not simply "drawings" that we usually put on the wall or under glasses, whatever the kind of presentation, but also and perhaps before any kind of consideration works to be diffused as publishing items. This precision, I think is usefull, if not completely necessary to understand its entire signification.
Mention of the edition should be also kind of the site editor... Please contact me :

  5. Asemic Calligraphy from Mirtha Dermisache was a really different type of presentation. This writing art form looks really graphic. There is a definite symmetry and sensuous appeal to the line design. I like the fact that the smaller text block is towards the right hand side. It almost looks like an alphabet is being conceived in the bold sharp lines that end with a delicate lift. Calligraphy art has probably been around since monks first sat down with quill and ink, creating illuminated manuscripts. There is a possibility that the Persian Empire and the Hammurabi code looked something like this when it was scratched into a clay tablet. Have you devised a real alphabet that can be read or is the nature of the renderings more like graphic art and simply ornamental? I think that this is a totally unique online art presentation . Art and calligraphy are spawned in the same genetic pool. The written letter is in itself artistic, just look at the delicate line and cap serifs on Old English letters. This is truly an artistic alphabet.

  6. Olivia - I think graphic art ( asemic calligraphic) can be much more than 'simply ornamental' - gesture and mark by themselves say so much....
